Client: Third Party Logistics
Warehouse Footprint: 166,000 square feet
Challenge: Retrofit a portion of vacant warehouse space with an insulated wall system to create three distinct temperature zones, 22,400 sq. ft., 38,400 sq. ft., and 60,800 sq. ft., in a matter of days.

Shaver Industries worked with a Third Party Logistics partner to provide a customized temperature zoning solution. The challenge was to quickly accommodate a sensitive product from one of the world’s largest food companies requiring multiple temperatures for product aging.

Project Summary

Shaver Industries was hired by a Third Party Logistics (3PL) partner to retrofit an existing warehouse space with three distinct temperature zones to accommodate the aging process and storage for cheese. Working hand-in-hand with our 3PL, Shaver Manufacturing was able to provide a flexible, dependable alternative to a permanent wall system in record installation time.

Key Challenges

Focused on meeting the needs of one of the world’s largest food companies, this 3PL was clear on its goals:

• Transform existing warehouse space to accommodate three distinct temperature zones – 36°F, 57°F, and ambient;

• Evaluate a contemporary wall structure that can be easily reconfigured to accommodate future client needs;

• Utilize a product that has excellent thermal performance; and

• Installs quickly and efficiently with minimal manpower and equipment

How Shaver Helped

This 3PL sought an experienced partner with a proven product to transform existing warehouse space quickly, economically, and efficiently. They selected Shaver Industries based on our proven experience in helping 3PLs and other end users maintain temperature zones and divide space with InsulWall. InsulWall was the ideal, contemporary solution to meet this client’s space and temperature zoning needs – quickly. Shaver’s Account Manager along with our team of engineers, production staff, and installers worked together to design and install this project to meet the client’s aggressive time table.

The Result

Within seven working days from the time the product arrived, through installation and inspection – this warehouse space was accepting product and generating revenue.

“Driscoll’s seasonal use of the 6,000 square foot space made it the perfect application for InsulWall. We needed a modular, insulated curtain wall solution that could be taken down, stored, and reinstalled the following year.”
